Safety first! The solution is the Plusmax PlusAir Helmet converted to a fullface helmet. The Guard can be mounted on the helmet for maximum safety. The chinguard is available in one size fits all and the standard Plusmax colours black, white and electric blue, soft touch coated, with interior lining or without. Four hightensile stainless steel A4 screws hold the chinguard secure to the helmet. The chinguard is easy to assemble to the helmet, it can be easyly attached and detached.
The most obvious advantage of the combination Plusmax PlusAir with The Guard is the weight. The helmet weighs only 595 gramms and is therefore the lightest certified EN 966 freeflight fullface helmet on the market. This ensures the pilot maximum comfort and therefore safety while doing the sport. Wearing a light weight helmet prevents the pilot from fatiguing, the pilot can concentrate on the sport longer and fly safe.

 

The Plusmax Chinguard has been designed to upgrade your 'Plusmax Chinguard READY' helmet to convert to fullface. All Plusmax Helmets Plus and PlusAir can be upgraded with this optional Chinguard. The Guard protects you perfectly doing your extreme sport activities like Paragliding, Hang Gliding, Base Jumping, Big Mountain Ski and Snowboarding. The Guard is available in 3 colour options black,white and electric blue. The Guard is made from injected ABS which ensures lasting durability. The Guard is also backed up by the Plusmax World Wide Lifetime Warranty.

This cover can be bolted on when you detach the chinguard with the same bolts that hold the Chinguard normaly in place. This will give your helmet a cool look when you use it without the Chinguard and the bolts and nuts are nicely secured.

Chinguard Assembly:/
Fitting the chinguard takes time, care and patience. It's a 10 minute job, not a 2 minute job!

      
1. Ear pads should be removed before fitting the chinguard. Un-do both poppers and slide the ear pad out from between the helmet shell and liner. You can re-fit the ear pads afterwards, but the helmet is certified either way, so try the helmet before you re-fit them as you may prefer the extra space around your ear.

 

2. Next remove the self adhesive carbon-look stickers above the ear pad, on the outside of the helmet shell. These will not be used again so you can discard them. Removing the sticker reveals 2 mounting holes on each side of the helmet.

 

3. Fit one silver coloured round alloy nut into the rear of each of these holes, ie from the inside of the helmet shell, next to the helmet lining. You'll need to squeeze these nuts into the hole, they are tight and designed to self lock once fitted. This bit is quite a fiddle, and you may want to use the end of a flat bladed screwdriver or similar to press them home. If the hole is very tight and you cannot get the alloy nut to press home, use the following procedure:

 

• Without fitting the chinguard, hold the alloy nut flat against the hole as above, and enter a black Allen (hexagonal) head bolt from the outer side of the helmet. Being very careful not to cross thread the nut, slowly tighten the black Allen bolt with the Allen key spanner provided. Make sure you keep the nut and bolt perpendicular to the helmet. Gently tightening the bolt will draw the silver coloured alloy nut into the hole, and it will become captive. Keep a careful eye on the nut and bolt as you tighten, and don't screw too tight or too far, you only need to pull the nut far enough into the plastic to keep it there for now; full tightening will be achieved when you fit the chinguard. Once the silver coloured alloy nut is captive, carefully unscrew the black Allen bolt. Repeat this procedure on all four holes. You should end up with all four silver coloured round alloy nuts captive in the helmet shell.

 

4. Carefully fit the chinguard to the helmet, ensuring the webbing chin straps stay on the inside of the helmet.

 

5. Now re-fit the 4 black Allen bolts one by one, tightening them by finger to begin with, and again being very careful not to cross thread the nut. Then using the Allen key spanner tighten the bolts carefully, and NOT TOO TIGHT! You need them to be tight enough so as not to come undone, but not so tight that they start to press into the plastic of the chinguard.

 

6. You can now re-fit the ear pads if required, by sliding them carefully back between the helmet shell and liner. Make sure they are lined up correctly, and close the poppers on the webbing chin strap. You're finished!
